Scouting across the UK is a constantly evolving and changing organisation and something that we pride ourselves on is our ability to adapt to the changing world around us. This is no different now than it was 113 years ago when our founder Lord Baden Powell set up the first boy scout camp on Brownsea Island. Over the 113 years since this, Scouting has undergone many changes, with the introduction of the other sections, the welcoming of girls, and the expansion across the ages.
Today marks the next step in this amazing journey and 6th Gosport is proud to announce that we are the first group in Gosport that will be opening the latest development in Scouting History. The introduction of a Scout Early Years provision under the name “Squirrels”. This will be a provision for four and five-year-olds to partake in Scouting activities, such as achieving badges, enjoying outdoor adventures, and making new friends.

We’re delighted to announce that here at 6th Gosport, we are opening a Squirrel Scout Section – Scouts for four and five-year-olds.
We plan to open our first Squirrel Drey at the beginning of September and they will be meeting on a Monday evening at our HQ in Acorn Close.
Currently, we are looking for adults to join the Squirrel team. So please get in touch if you think you can help.
